The Properties

The recently renovated Amos Bull House is adjoined by the historic 1865 Jacob Weidenmann designed ornamental garden and 18th-century Butler-McCook House, creating the largest privately-owned, publicly accessible green space in downtown Hartford. A bright meeting room features exposed wood beams and original brick walls as well as an A/V system, catering kitchen and elevator access.

The Butler-McCook House is the only 18th-century home remaining on Hartford’s Main Street witnessed the city’s evolution from the time of the American Revolution until the mid-twentieth century. Original furnishings range from Connecticut-crafted colonial furniture to Victorian-era toys and paintings. The expansive property features a restored Victorian ornamental garden, laid out in 1865 by landscape designer Jacob Weidenmann. The dual-property is an oasis of history and charm, a superb location for outdoor weddings and parties or indoor meetings and gatherings.

Facility rentals are available year round, conveniently located in downtown Hartford. An accessible outdoor terrace and extensive lawn, bordered by a lovely garden, may be tented for groups up to 225. Well-equipped meeting room with A/V system and catering kitchen accommodates up to 45 seated guests. Smaller rooms available to support meeting break-out sessions. Rentals of the Amos Bull House may be combined with the indoor and outdoor facilities at the adjacent Butler McCook House & Garden.
