Traverse the streets and sites of Frederick Law Olmsted’s Hartford to commemorate this illustrious native son. Highlights include the Butler-McCook House & Garden, Olmsted’s birth site, Bushnell Park, the Capitol Grounds, High Street, Ann Street, and Keney Clock Tower, with optional visit (by car) to Olmsted’s gravesite in Old North Cemetery.


Advance registration is required. This program is part of our Historic Hartford Walking Tours series, where we forge new paths through Hartford’s history! Register for additional walks here

Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather, as this program will take place outdoors. In case of cancellation due to severe weather, registrants will be notified at the email address on file. 

This walk will leave from the rear (east) end of the Butler-McCook Garden at the historic Amos Bull House, with entry and parking at 59 S. Prospect St. If entering from Main Street at the Butler-McCook House & Garden, please proceed through the garden gate to the garden lawn.
