Please Note: Music will happen rain or shine in the intimate setting of our community room of Amos Bull House from 7-9 pm, 59 S Prospect in Hartford at the rear of our historic Butler-McCook House & Garden.
Hartford joins cities worldwide on the longest day of the year to celebrate the annual Make Music Day Hartford. Bring a picnic and your dancing shoes to the garden of the Butler-McCook House and join the party in Hartford’s best kept secret—our historic garden oasis–with perennial crowd favorite Ed Fast and Congabop. Have no doubt that this will be an exciting performance filled with Fast’s original tunes and rumbafied standards and his stellar line-up of performers, including legendary percussionist Sammy Figueroa.
SAMMY FIGUEROA has long been regarded as one of the world’s great musicians. As one of the leading percussionists he has played on countless records and is well-known for his versatility in a multitude of musical styles. Besides playing with some of the world’s greatest pop stars, such as David Bowie, Chaka Khan and Mariah Carey, Sammy has also played with a multitude of distinguished jazz artists including Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Quincy Jones, George Benson, and many, many more.
This internationally recognized day of music began over 40 years ago and is now celebrated in 120 countries with thousands of free concerts. Learn more and find a Make Music Chapter near you at makemusicday.org
