Round out your evening with free tours of the house museum’s first floor\, an audio tour of the garden\, and featured artist exhibitions. In case of inclement weather\, the concert will move indoors to the Amos Bull Community Room. \nFeatured Performers: Ghazi Omair\, “I\, Too\, Sing America. I\, Too\, Am America.” \nInspired by a poem by Langston Hughes\, Ghazi Omair sets poetry and writings to music in this performance that combines spoken word\, hip-hop and jazz.  \nPersonnel: \nGhazi Omair – poetry/spoken word \nChantal Edwards-Matthews – interpretive dance \nDamian Curtis – piano \nMatt Dwonszyk – bass \nDwayne Keith– drums \nAustin Phillips – guitar \nBIO: Ghazi Omair is a Hip-Hop Lyricist/Poet from Hartford\, CT. He has performed at venues throughout the Tri-State area and focuses on the musical space between Hip-Hop and Jazz. He has worked with artists such as Matt Dwonzsyk\, The Lost Tribe\, Cappadonna\, Self Suffice\, Michael Pallas and other artists throughout New York and Connecticut.   \nGhazi’s last release is titled “Lavender” and can be found on all major streaming platforms. Lavender is an experimental project combining Trap\, Hip-Hop and Jazz while splicing conversations of social commentary between the songs. \nRegister Now\n\nSponsored by the Richard P. Garmany Fund at the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation; the Evelyn W. Visitors may park and enter at the Butler-McCook entrance on Main Street\, or the Amos Bull entrance on S. Prospect Street. \nThis program takes place outdoors. In case of inclement weather\, the concert will move indoors to the Amos Bull Community Room. \nFeatured Performers: Kris Allen Quintet \nAlto sax player Kris Allen gathers a group of stellar musicians to pay tribute to the greats of hard bop and bebop\, such as Charlie Parker\, Bud Powell and Jackie McLean. \nPersonnel:\nKris Allen – saxophone  \nBruce Harris – trumpet  \nNat Reeves – bass  \nJeff Tain Watts – drums  \nZaccai Curtis – keys \nBIO: Kris Allen is the Lyell B. Clay Artist in Residence in Jazz and Lecturer in Music at Williams and the director of the Williams jazz ensemble program. A native of the Hartford CT area and a protégé of the great Jackie McLean\, Kris has forged a clear conceptual and aural identity as a saxophonist\, composer\, bandleader and recording artist. appearing on dozens of albums. DESCRIPTION:Suffield is often described as a “town of farms.” More specifically\, we like to say that it is home to a “town of flower farms.” The Phelps-Hatheway School of Floral Arts was created to showcase the magnificent blooms grown in our small community and\, for the final session\, in our great state of Connecticut. All ages and abilities are welcome! \nEmbrace history and horticulture during a special summer morning escape. The day begins at Suffield’s Willow View Farm where owner Julie Harrison grows flowers adjacent to the town’s oldest house. After a brief farm tour\, guests may pick a large cup full of flowers. After\, retire to Phelps-Hatheway House’s late 18th-century carriage house\, where we will take in the garden while enjoying beverages and pastries. A special tour of the museum’s interiors will trace the importance of gardens and floral design from the 18th-21st centuries. \nRegister Now\n\nRefreshments will be served and a tour of Phelps-Hatheway House’s historic interiors will be available.  \n\nTickets are $55 for CTL Members and $65 for the general public.
