In case of inclement weather\, the concert will move indoors to the Amos Bull Community Room. \nFeatured Performers: SOAR: Sounds of April & Randall \nConcluding our 2026 concert series\, we will SOAR with the Sounds of April and Randall!  April May Webb\, 2024 winner of the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition\, and Randall Haywood\, named a “Rising Star” by Hot House & Jazzmobile NYC\, lead an award-winning jazz ensemble sparked by their great musical chemistry. April & Randall blend jazz with Country\, R&B\, and Gospel influences. Webb was a student of the late Mulgrew Miller\, while Randall earned his Master’s at Juilliard. DESCRIPTION:Suffield is often described as a “town of farms.” More specifically\, we like to say that it is home to a “town of flower farms.” The Phelps-Hatheway School of Floral Arts was created to showcase the magnificent blooms grown in our small community and\, for the final session\, in our great state of Connecticut. All ages and abilities are welcome! \nEmbrace history and horticulture during a special summer morning escape. The day begins at Suffield’s Willow View Farm where owner Julie Harrison grows flowers adjacent to the town’s oldest house. After a brief farm tour\, guests may pick a large cup full of flowers. After\, retire to Phelps-Hatheway House’s late 18th-century carriage house\, where we will take in the garden while enjoying beverages and pastries. A special tour of the museum’s interiors will trace the importance of gardens and floral design from the 18th-21st centuries. \nRegister Now\n\nRefreshments will be served and a tour of Phelps-Hatheway House’s historic interiors will be available.  \n\nTickets are $55 for CTL Members and $65 for the general public. In case of inclement weather\, the concert will move indoors to the Amos Bull Community Room. \nFeatured Performers: Kris Allen Quintet \nAlto sax player Kris Allen gathers a group of stellar musicians to pay tribute to the greats of hard bop and bebop\, such as Charlie Parker\, Bud Powell and Jackie McLean. \nPersonnel:\nKris Allen – saxophone  \nBruce Harris – trumpet  \nNat Reeves – bass  \nJeff Tain Watts – drums  \nZaccai Curtis – keys \nBIO: Kris Allen is the Lyell B. Clay Artist in Residence in Jazz and Lecturer in Music at Williams and the director of the Williams jazz ensemble program. A native of the Hartford CT area and a protégé of the great Jackie McLean\, Kris has forged a clear conceptual and aural identity as a saxophonist\, composer\, bandleader and recording artist. appearing on dozens of albums. Each week\, the staff of the Homestead hosts family-friendly programs including 18th–century games\, hearth cooking\, cheese-making\, woodworking\, and so much more.
