SUMMARY:Sunset Sounds Concert Series | Kris Allen Quintet
DESCRIPTION:Bring a lawn chair and a picnic dinner as our historic garden comes alive with music! Round out your evening with free tours of the house museum’s first floor\, an audio tour of the garden\, and featured artist exhibitions. In case of inclement weather\, the concert will move indoors to the Amos Bull Community Room. \nFeatured Performers: Kris Allen Quintet \nAlto sax player Kris Allen gathers a group of stellar musicians to pay tribute to the greats of hard bop and bebop\, such as Charlie Parker\, Bud Powell and Jackie McLean. \nPersonnel:\nKris Allen – saxophone  \nBruce Harris – trumpet  \nNat Reeves – bass  \nJeff Tain Watts – drums  \nZaccai Curtis – keys \nBIO: Kris Allen is the Lyell B. Clay Artist in Residence in Jazz and Lecturer in Music at Williams and the director of the Williams jazz ensemble program. A native of the Hartford CT area and a protégé of the great Jackie McLean\, Kris has forged a clear conceptual and aural identity as a saxophonist\, composer\, bandleader and recording artist. appearing on dozens of albums. His latest release as a leader\, June\, is his third critically acclaimed album for the Truth Revolution Recording Collective   \nRegister Now\n\nSponsored by the Richard P. Prospect Street in Hartford. The grounds open at 5 pm and the performance begins at 6 pm. Please note that metered street parking is usually readily available in the area\, and free after 6 pm. Visitors may park and enter at the Butler-McCook entrance on Main Street\, or the Amos Bull entrance on S. Prospect Street. \nThis program takes place outdoors. In case of inclement weather\, the concert will move indoors to the Amos Bull Community Room. Registrants will be notified at the email address on file in the case of cancellation.
