DESCRIPTION:Stop into Phelps-Hatheway’s Visitor Center for the Seasons of Change art exhibition by Laurie Tavino and Ray Pioggia. In this exhibit\, photographic and hand-rendered images in color and monochrome depict scenes and themes from locations throughout Suffield – a number of which are views that no longer exist. \nWe invite you to join us for the exhibit’s opening reception on Friday\, May 1\, from 5 pm–7 pm in the Visitor’s Center. Laurie and Ray will be on site to answer questions as you gather with friends and neighbors to take in the beauty of this special offering. \nThe exhibit will be open during the property’s regular open hours this season through November 1. Click here to see upcoming events at the Phelps-Hatheway House & Garden. \nSuffield is often described as a “town of farms.” More specifically\, we like to say that it is home to a “town of flower farms.” The Phelps-Hatheway School of Floral Arts was created to showcase the magnificent blooms grown in our small community and\, for the final session\, in our great state of Connecticut. All ages and abilities are welcome! \nLate May marks the return of the peony\, known for its deep hues and exquisite fragrance. Debora Reynolds\, long-time supporter of the Phelps-Hatheway House & Garden\, flower farmer\, and floral designer\, brings decades of experience in the growing and styling of the peony. Debora will share her horticulture tips and guide you on your way to the perfect arrangement. \n\nThis workshop includes flowers and vase. Refreshments will be served and a tour of Phelps-Hatheway House’s historic interiors will be available.  \n\nTickets are $55 for CTL Members and $65 for the general public.
