Discuss the impacts of industry and immigration on these neighborhoods in Hartford\, including sites like the Colt Factory and its worker houses\, the Church of the Good Shepard and Parish House\, the Capewell Nail Factory\, and the Polish National Home. \nRAIN DATE: Sunday\, September 24. \nClick Here for Tickets\n\nThis program is part of our Historic Hartford Walking Tours series\, where we forge new paths through Hartford’s history! Register for additional walks here.  \nPlease wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather\, as this program will take place outdoors. In case of severe weather\, the program will proceed at 10:00 am on Sunday\, September 24. DESCRIPTION:Update: Unfortunately\, we have had to cancel this event due to forecasted storms. Please stay tuned to our social media channels and e-newsletter for updates on future programming. \nCelebrate the ongoing growth of the Connecticut Freedom Trail by helping to create the Hempsted Houses’ Freedom Garden by painting a freedom rock\, and learning more about notable abolitionists like Martha and Mary Hempsted and the roles they played in advocating for the complete abolition of enslaved people on a special tour of the Joshua Hempsted House. The Connecticut Freedom Trail\, founded in 1996\, documents and designates sites that embody the struggle toward freedom and human dignity and celebrate the accomplishments of the state’s African American communities. \nAdvance registration available\, but walk-ins are welcome!  \n  \n\nPlease dress for the weather as parts of this program take place outdoors.
